Ramanagara District is surrounded by the districts of Bangalore Rural on the North, Chamarajanagara, Mandya and Dharmpuri District on the South, Bangalore City on the east and Mandya and Tumkur on the West. It was created in the year 2007, Dated 22 August. Out of the erstwhile Bangalore Rural District. The District has an area of about 3,573 Sq. KMS and the topography is mainly plain with an average elevation of 2,100 ft above sea level. The district lies between Mysore and Bangalore cities, Rail and road connecting both cities pass through Ramanagara. This District is Predominantly one of the Agriculturists and Sericulture.
